I am very sad to learn of the passing of my favorite city editor Bill O’Keefe who taught me a great deal about reporting and writing at the Duluth Herald and News-Tribune. Bill was always a kind, gentle soul who wasn’t afraid to spot the irony or humor in many news stories and situations. Sharon and Bill proved to be lifelong friends. And we visited in many states where they built careers in journalism. My condolences to his many dear friends and co-workers in Florida and across the country.
