Lorraine M. Hadley

September 10, 1925 - November 6, 2021

Lorraine Hadley (née Florek) went to be with her Savior & Lord on Nov. 6th, 2021 at the age of 96. She was born on Sept. 9th, 1925 in Chicago, IL, to Joseph and Pauline Florek. She married the love of her life, Larry Hadley in 1944 and shared many years of love, laughter, and life, until his passing away in 1997. Before moving to Florida, they owned a lake house in Lake Shangrila, WI. Her niece and nephews enjoyed spending their summers at the lake learning to swim, boating, fishing, and skiing. Holidays at the lake were memorable with Lorraine playing the organ and the family surrounding her singing along. Until she retired at age 52, she was the executive secretary to the president of RCA and was fortunate to meet many recording artists, including Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. She supported many charities generously over the years, including the Olympics, ASPCA, Wildlife Fund, the Catholic church, and Gulfside Hospice. She became a volunteer after her husband’s passing and had served over 10,000 hours as of 2019. Gulfside Hospice renamed one of their buildings in New Port Richey to the Hadley Center to honor Lorraine and her husband Larry. She has touched countless lives with her generosity. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother Joseph Florek and his wife Blanche; nephew, Douglas Florek; and great-nephew, Brian Florek. Survivors include her brother, Clarence Florek and wife Lorraine; niece, Debra (Florek) Bradshaw; nephews, Dale, David and Daniel Florek; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephew. A celebration of life is planned for a later date. Please check back using the Michels & Lundquist website for updates.
