John S. Sargent, Jr.

April 17, 1947 - January 6, 2020

John S. Sargent, Jr, 72, of New Port Richey, FL passed away at home on January 6, 2020. He was born in Winchester, VA on April 17, 1947 to the late John S. Sargent Sr and Paulene (Snyder) Sargent. He was a member of VFW, American Legion, Suncoast Brotherhood, VFW 4412 Riders and the Moose Lodge. He loved his motorcycle, traveling, boating, and so much more. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972.
John is survived by his wife, Carolann; daughter, Denise (Bobby) Levi; foster daughter, Avery Vescuso; step-daughter, April (Brian) Ames; step-son, Jeff (April) Greer; brothers: Gary (Marsha) Sargent, Patrick Sargent, Timmy (Natalie) Sargent and Jerry (Rhonda) Sargent; grandchildren: Michael, Andrew, Chelsea, Ammie, Jayson, Hayleigh, Chloe and Alstott; many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers & sisters in law, and mother in law, Freda Platt; best friends, Alec and Tinker Carroll; and countless more dear friends.
A celebration of John’s life will be hosted by VFW 4412 February 7th. A graveside service will commence that day at Florida National Cemetery at 2pm.
John’s last day was a very good day, full of love and laughter. His death has come very suddenly and without any warning. His family had no time to prepare for this tragic loss.
