Guy Leonard Girton (aka POP), 73, of WesleyChapel, passed away on August 14, 2020. He was born September 22, 1946, in Miami to James and Sue Girton. He graduated Ocala High School and went on to serve in the Navy on the USS Shangri-La. Guy married Cheryl Ann Adams and had two children; Shawn R. Girton and Chonya (husband Brian) Alvarez. He was a butcher by trade, a restaurateur, and chef. Together, with his wife Cheri, they ran Savage Acres, raising rare and endangered cats. Guy was also an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. If you knew dad, you know he never met a stranger, he would talk to everyone. He loved to share his Navy stories, he loved his grand-kids and enjoyed taking them fishing…man did he love fishing. Guy is survived by his children; Shawn Girton and Chonya Alvarez, his 7 grandchildren; Zachary, Gage, Seth and Sara Girton of Ocala, FL., Logan, Jaidyn, and Kearstin Alvarez of Wesley Chapel, FL., and his brother; Walter Girton. He is also survived by his service Chihuahua, Poppy. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years; Cheryl Girton, his parents, James and Sue Girton and his brother; Marshall Girton. We love you and will miss you always dad.
Services to be held at Florida National at a later date. We will post an update when it is scheduled.

What our families say...

“When my sister-in-law passed away unexpectedly, me and my family were thrust into this process for the first time. Charlie Webster was my first and only contact with Michels & Lundquist and he was FANTASTIC from start to finish. He was sensitive, understanding and fully explained the process and made things easy for me during a very difficult time. The services were carried out flawlessly and the pricing was very reasonable. I am very thankful for his kind words and conscientious work. I would HIGHLY recommend Michels & Lundquist and Mr. Webster.”
