Gifts & Memorial Donations

On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Metzger-Marcum, loving mother and grandmother of 3 passed away at the age of 64 in New Port Richey, Florida. Betty was born on December 1, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert Sr. and Althea (Kassuba) Metzger. She lived in Michigan throughout her childhood and moved to Florida when she married. She was the mother of 3 children, Lil Ray, Katie, and Becky and had 3 wonderful grandchildren that were the loves of her life, Maddie, Jakob, and Elijah. Betty was known for her outgoing personality and her ability to smile no matter what life brought her way. When her children were younger, she loved nothing more than to volunteer at their school where she earned over 5000 volunteer hours. She loved to do anything that would bring her closer to her 2 daughters. Once her babies grew up and gave her grandbabies her world was forever changed, she had a new purpose in life, and she took it very seriously. Betty enjoyed spoiling her 3 grandbabies and making sure they never wanted for anything. She was a social butterfly and managed to make lasting friendships with everyone she met. Betty didn’t know a stranger and trips to the store turned into “family reunions.” Her true love was anything to do with arts and crafts and you could often find her making things with the craft group at The Landings. She also had a love for board games and Bingo and enjoyed her weekly “play time” with the friends she made at The Landings. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sr, and her son Anthony Jr. She is survived by her mother, Althea, her daughters, Katherine and Rebecca, her grandchildren, Madilyn, Jakob, and Elijah, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews (including Greats and Great-Greats). Due to current social restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date so that we can celebrate what a truly amazing person Betty was.
