Richard Keegan, 87, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away February 6, 2019. Born October 4, 1931 in Akron, OH, he is the son of the late Harry and Mary Keegan. He is also preceded in death by his wives, Beatrice “Dee Dee” Keegan (1928-2017) and Rosland Marmaduke Keegan (1933-1995); and his brother, William Keegan (1925-2006). He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Mike) Subleski of Marble Head, Ohio; son, Larry (Nancy) Marmaduke of Mogadore, OH; grandchildren: Erik (Katrina) Marmaduke of North Canton, OH and Alesha (Arron) Piggott of Ravenna, OH and favorite cousin Jack Stadelman; and children of “Dee Dee”: Sue Ellen (David) Seldom, Terry Ann (Joseph) Costa, Christine (Roy) Brady, Michael (Drema) Owens, and Maureen (Brian) Gerrity.
Dick was born and raised in Akron, OH. He served in the Navy Reserve and was a salesman all his life. Dick loved boating and was a 20 year member of the Calusa Cruise Club of New Port Richey. He was devoted to the success of the club and served in many official positions including Commodore over his years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Gulf Harbors Civic Association. Dick was also a life member of the United States Sail and Power Squadron, having served 5 years. He was a past commander at Sarasota Power and Sail Squadron and a member of Manatee Sail and Power Squadron. Special thanks are extended to Donald Marcopuios for being a helping and caring friend in this time of need. Dick will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Road in New Port Richey, FL on March 8, 2019 at 1pm. A memorial service will commence at 2pm. A short luncheon will follow at the Gulf Harbor Clubhouse.
