Catherine Swickert

April 18, 1945 - March 27, 2021

Catherine Swickert, age 75, of Hudson, passed away March 27, 2021. She was born April 18, 1945 to Joseph Penrose and Mary Phillips in Manhattan, NY. Catherine was catholic by faith. She came to Florida in 1981.

Catherine dedicated her working years to the many facets of cosmetology, being both a hairdresser and an instructor in the trade. She spent many years traveling abroad, making countless friends, and touching the lives of those she encountered. Catherine had a quick wit and an uncanny ability to reach others in a meaningful and positive way. Her legacy is one of strength and resilience. In her time, she was an avid gardener, world traveler, animal rescuer, devoted friend, loving mother and remarkable grandmother affectionately named “Gee” by her grandchildren. She was an original and her spirit was too bright to simply be known as grandma.

Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Jack and her son, Trevor. She is survived by her loving family, and her dog Baby. She will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, joining her beloved husband.

What our families say...

“When my sister-in-law passed away unexpectedly, me and my family were thrust into this process for the first time. Charlie Webster was my first and only contact with Michels & Lundquist and he was FANTASTIC from start to finish. He was sensitive, understanding and fully explained the process and made things easy for me during a very difficult time. The services were carried out flawlessly and the pricing was very reasonable. I am very thankful for his kind words and conscientious work. I would HIGHLY recommend Michels & Lundquist and Mr. Webster.”
