Carolyn Lee Kashawlic

August 29, 1952 - April 24, 2021

Carolyn Lee (Barker) Kashawlic was born on August 29, 1952 to Philip and Alberta (Schulte) Barker in Lakewood, Ohio where she grew up with her sister Laurel (Urban).  She graduated from St. Augustine Academy and began a career as Executive Secretary with exceptional shorthand and wicked fast typing skills.

She married Michael Kashawlic in 1973.  Together they raised three children Carrie, Hallie (Zagrocki) and Dale.  Carolyn focused her energy on her children and family volunteering as a Cub Scout Leader and Girl Scout Volunteer as well as many, many, trips in and around Mentor, Ohio to support her children’s athletic, academic, and community pursuits.

She finished her career with the Post Office and retired to Florida with Michael where they could spend time in the sun and on the boat with family and friends.  Carolyn had an exceptionally kind heart and was always willing to listen, share, and love on anyone who crossed her path.  In her waning years she found joy in sharing two-dollar bills with family and friends and in carrying on a familial tradition.

She was welcomed at the pearly gates on Saturday, April 24, 2021 by her parents, step-mother Josephine, sister, and granddaughter, Melody Kashawlic.  She is survived by her husband, children and three grandchildren, Luke Zagrocki, Emma Zagrocki, and Vincent Kashawlic
