Beatrice Marie "Dee Dee" Keegan

Beatrice Marie (Dee Dee) Chaput Owens Keegan, 89, New Port Richey, FL passed away on December 11, 2017.  Born May 26, 1928 in Niagara Fall, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Regina Chaput. She is survived by her husband Richard H. Keegan.  Preceding her in death was her husband, Hobart G. Owens (1926-1996).

Surviving are her children Sue Ellen Owens Seldomridge (David) of Dawsonville, GA; Terry Ann Owens Costa (Joseph) of Port St. Lucie, FL; Christine Marie Owens Brady (Roy) of Clearwater, FL; Michael G. Owens (Drema) of Huntington, WV; and Maureen Owens Gerrity (Brian) of Severna Park, MD; grandchildren Amy Kelley (Chris); Leigh Ann Wearne (Eric); Carrie Lynn Ramos (Paul); Anthony M. Costa (Ashley); Dakota Dudley (Michael Beauchemin); Nicholas Rood (Christina); Garrett Dudley (Jennifer); Amanda Synder (Russ), Michael G. Owens; Jr.; Zachary Owens (Jessie); Alexander J Gerrity; Kathleen Gerrity; great grandchildren Justin Kelley, Joshua Kelley, John Kelley,  Jacob Kelley; Jackson Wearne, Charlotte Wearne, Sutton Wearne, Augustine Wearne, Lawrence Wearne, Stella Wearne; Hannah Marie Vickers, Ava Catherine Costa, Audrey Grace Costa; Kole Beauchemin, Caroline Rood, Alexus Rood, Emma Rood, Regan Rood, Jaxon Rood, Dalton Harbison, Haylee Dudley, Paislee Dudley; Addyson Snyder, Jaxon Snyder, Saylor Snyder.

Preceding in death were her siblings Raymond J. Chaput and Robert M. Chaput.  Surviving siblings are John W. Chaput, Regina M. Amabile, Edward C. Chaput, Mary E. Bryan, Rosie A. Plauche, Teresa  Burkhart and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dee Dee moved to Huntington, WV with her parents in 1941 where she graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School.  She raised her five children there and then she and her husband Hobart G. Owens moved to New Port Richey, FL in 1988.   Following Mr. Owens’ death, she married Richard H. Keegan in June 23, 2001.  She could light up a room with her smile, never met a stranger and loved the “sparklies on the water.”

Memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Michels-Lundquist Funeral Home 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL.  A luncheon will follow at the Gulf Harbor Clubhouse.  A memorial will be held in Huntington, WV in the spring.
