Gifts & Memorial Donations

Andrew J. “Andy” Lundquist, 77, of New Port Richey, FL went to heaven on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He was born in Waukesha, WI on February 15, 1941 to his parents, Al and Thelma Breska. When his loving mother went to heaven after his birth, he was blessed to be raised and cared for by his aunt and uncle, Dorothy (Breska) and Reuben Lundquist, who became his parents.  As a child he lived a life of adventure traveling the country and living many different places. He went to mortuary school in Milwaukee, WI, where he met his beautiful and caring wife of more than 52 years, Bette (Powell).  He was the cofounder of Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home in New Port Richey and spent his years in service to our community.  He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey since 1959 where he served as a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister for many years.  He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus #5869 and of the New Port Richey Jaycees, and a member of the Sertoma Club, Greater New Port Richey Chamber of Commerce, and he actively volunteered in the Chasco Fiesta.

Andy is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dolores Breska and Dorothy Maule; and two brothers, Thomas and James Breska.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Bette; his son, Andrew J. “Drew” Lundquist, II of New Port Richey; his daughter, Christine “Chrissy” (Scott) Lent of Port Richey; his granddaughter, Heather Gmitter (Richard Degraff) of Port Richey; his adorable great grandson, Hunter Degraff of Port Richey; his sister, Helen (Duane) Roeseler of Hustisford, WI; and many nieces and nephews.  To his nieces Susie, Sallie, Sandi, & Sarah, he was their “big brother.”

Andy had a wonderful sense of humor and words cannot describe his compassion and caring for his family and fellow man.  We will truly miss our “Husband”, “Daddy”, “Uncle Andy”, “GrandPAL”, and “Great GrandPAL.”

Visitation for Andy will be held at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 3-6pm with a small service to commence at 6pm.  A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10am.  Andy will be laid to rest privately at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens.
