Mary Alice Miner, 96, of Holiday passed away February 17, 2017 under the care of Gulfside Hospice at Oakview Terrace. She was born October 26, 1920, near Shelbyville, IN, to Edward Wisker and Margaret Zobel. She came to Florida over 30 years ago with her husband, Charles R. Miner. In her free time, Mary enjoyed word searches as well as knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, embroidery and sewing. She used her sewing talent to create clothing for her children’s dolls as they were growing up. She always watched Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy every evening. She also loved to travel. Mary and her husband were members of the Winnebago Club, traveling the country. She was a woman with a subtle humor and a caring heart.
Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Charles R. Miner, and her two brothers, J. Herbert and Charles Wisker. She is survived by her daughters: Mary Marjorie Donahue (Bob), Sue Ellen Miner, and Julia Kay Miner; her grandson, John Michael LeMasters (Melinda); her sister, R. Marjorie Kuhn; her sister-in-law, Angela Miner, and several nieces and nephews.
